On June 6, 2013, Northants Roads Policing Team officer PC Emilie Bunkall's beautiful mum Julie was tragically killed in a road collision on the A6 at Burton Latimer. 🧵

Yesterday (Wednesday, May 15), as part of her week-long activities for #roadpeacechallenge2024 Emilie was joined by her sister Lesley and niece Sophie as she visited the location of the road collision, which changed their lives forever.

They started their walk on the A6 at Burton Latimer, pausing at the scene of the collision to remember Julie, before continuing through Finedon, Irthlingborough and finishing at Julie's home in Higham Ferrers.

Collectively they walked a distance of 24.2 miles, representing the 242 people who were seriously injured in road collisions on the county's roads last year. Emilie, Lesley and Sophie have kindly given us permission to share their journey.
