Proud of my students for presenting at JAM. Topics included rare chipmunks, wind energy impact on ungulates, spotted owl diet, and white-tailed jackrabbits! I did not get a photo of Joe Youtz giving his presentation.

In Natural History of the Vertebrates (NMSU Fish, Wildlife & Cons Ecol's FWCE 330) today, undergrads got their hands dirty exploring the internal anatomy of cartilaginous fishes. Some--like Marius Morgan here--even birthed a few embryos!

A look behind the doors. Lab space is always limited for active research programs. Great to have underused (do we still need a dark room & a non-functional environmental chamber?) Knox Hall space being renovated.

New paper from PhD student Dylan Osterhaus & colleagues examines restored oxbow wetlands. Adding agricultural tile drainage had no negative impacts. Oxbows receiving tile drainage provide habitat for imperiled fish & increase nutrient sequestration rdcu.be/dyUA1
