Enter the London home of Charles Dickens. 🎩

Laid out as it could have looked in the 1830s, and comprising of many items which belonged to Charles Dickens himself, you'll be immersed in his literary world!

And for an added bonus, we're opening this bank holiday Monday too!

The sun came back over the Forest, bringing the scent of May. All the streams of the Forest were tinkling happily to find themselves their own pretty shape again and the little pools lay dreaming of the life they had seen and the things they had done. ~A.A.Milne

Sacrifices for the greater good 🌻 Jo Bonger, the wife of Vincent's brother Theo, did just that to contribute to Vincent's fame. She sold one of her two beloved 'Sunflower' paintings to the National Gallery in London to contribute to his international recognition.

It is Beltane tomorrow, the beginning of Summer. The fire starts to burn just a little bit brighter. This morning, sunrise on Glastonbury Tor.

Don't forget to put your May flowers out. This old Irish custom involves gathering flowers on May Eve (or in some places on May day morning) and leaving them in front of the main threshold. It was believed to protect the house from harm or evil.

I thought I'd start today with (yet!) another one that I haven't shown for a long time. This is 'Essex Landscape' by W S Mummery from 1930. It featured in our show Beecroft Art Gallery from 11/09/21-03/04/22. It is though that this was a view near the Iron Age fort near Loughton.
