Very welcome news that the UN Security Council just adopted a resolution calling for Israel and Hamas to commit to the proposed 'Gaza Peace Plan' as soon as possible. 1/2

It is now imperative that an immediate ceasefire is implemented. The Netherlands calls on all parties to comply. This is of crucial importance for the release of hostages, as well as for significantly more humanitarian aid for the suffering Gazan population. 2/2

Good to meet again with Palestinian PM #Mustafa. The circumstances in Gaza remain dire. We stressed that an immediate ceasefire must be implemented, in line with the adopted UNSC Resolution. Also discussed the extremely worrying situation on the West Bank and the Day After.

Not nearly enough aid is reaching the people in Gaza. We need to act now to alleviate their suffering. At today's humanitarian conference in #Jordan, we gathered with colleagues from all around the world to discuss how we can make our joint aid operations more effective. 1/3

Had a meeting with PM and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Palestinian Authority, Mohammed Mustafa in Ramallah. I expressed my sympathy for the lost Palestinian lives. We discussed the situation in Gaza and the West Bank. 1/3

We must work towards de-escalation, for the benefit of all in the region. We also discussed the urgency of a Gaza ceasefire, the 'Day After', and reform efforts by the Palestinian Authority. 2/3

I reiterated support for a two-state solution, with the horizon of a secure Israel next to a democratic and viable Palestinian state. 3/3

Spoke in Ramallah with Wael Zakout, Minister of International Cooperation of the Palestinian Authority. We discussed our diplomatic efforts to improve humanitarian access to the Gaza Strip and to ensure safe distribution of aid. 1/2
