As a music teacher, having summers off can be a long time to plan for the following school year. Aside from planning, what other musical activities do you find yourself involved with?

Guest conductor has just humiliated our 17 year old pianist in public rehearsal on concert day for making one mistake. She’s gone home, we have told her she is amazing. We are professional so we will finish the concert but I don’t think this conductor will be invited back again.

What are you plans before school starts again?

(1/2) We are saddened to hear of the passing of beloved composer, arranger, and teacher Robert W. Smith. His work has created an everlasting wave through the marching band, composition, and music education worlds - we will always be thankful for the time and energy he has shared.
