In this year's budget, we've proposed an additional $10 million to help regional and local fire departments purchase new safety equipment.    We're going to keep doing whatever we can to support our first responders.

🚒 .@njFiresafety and Kean University held their 16th Annual NJ F.I.R.E Bowl Challenge. Burnet Middle School and Nicholas Orseko School competed in their knowledge of fire-related questions. Congratulation to Nicholas Orseko School for their win and to all the participants. 👏🏽

Thank you to our New Jersey Forest Fire Service firefighters for working tirelessly to contain this wildfire. These brave men and women worked throughout the night and are continuing their work today to protect lives and our natural resources.

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of K9 Titan, Division of Fire Safety team. He was Captain Stephen Letts beloved partner & he truly made a positive impact upon the state’s fire service, law enforcement, and citizens. RIP faithful partner - 6/5/12 to 6/16/23.

Today the New Jersey Division of Fire Safety is mourning the loss of two brother firefighters from the City of Newark. Our hearts go out to their families, friends, loved ones, and the Newark FD. We pray for those injured and wish all a speedy and complete recovery.

Today, New Jersey’s fire service lost a tremendous ally and friend with the passing of Lt. Gov. Sheila Oliver. Since 2018, we at NJDFS had the honor of working with her as DCA Commissioner. Her strength, experience, and dedication to the people of NJ will never be forgotten.
