Last Friday, NI Veterans Commissioner & the NI Veteran’s Support Office met with the CEO of the Northern Health Trust. Together we’re working to bridge the gap between veterans' support services and standard health pathways, aiming for a more connected system for veterans in NI.

This is Armed Forces Week. Last Saturday, NI celebrated Armed Forces Day at Jordanstown Loughshore Park. Councils & public buildings are flying the Armed Forces Flag to show support. This included flag raisings in ABC Council , and Antrim & Newtownabbey Borough Council. More info nivco.co.uk

Today is the 108th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme. On this day the 36th Ulster Division suffered 5,029 casualties, with 2,069 fatalities. Yesterday, Rachael laid a wreath at a service by Knockagh Monument on behalf of the NI Veterans Commissioner. We will remember them.🌺

Today, on the 108th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme, NI Veterans Commissioner Danny Kinahan laid a wreath at Thiepval Memorial, France. A service was also held at Belfast, where Alan from the NIVCO laid a wreath. Today we remember the sacrifice of the 36th Ulster Division.

This week, as we commemorate the 108th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme, the NI Veterans Commissioner, Danny Kinahan travelled to France to honour, remember, and lay wreaths on the battlefields of the Somme. We owe so much to the many who fell here. We will remember 🌺

Today, the NI Veterans Commissioners Office attended the Delano van der Stok Health Seminar in Lisburn. It was good to learn about how they support veterans awaiting or receiving treatment for mental & physical health. We're grateful for the work of DMWS in supporting veterans' wellbeing.
