Our paper, “Programming multicellular assembly with synthetic cell adhesion molecules” is now online ahead of print. nature.com/articles/s4158… @nature @ucsf Cell Design Institute @UCSF Fletcher Lab (and Andrew Harris), Faranak Fattahi Ophir Klein Josiah Gerdts Wesley McKeithan
Check out our paper Science Magazine. We engineered synthetic T cell circuits that locally produce the cytokine IL2. Specific configurations of IL2 circuits dramatically improved T cell clearance of solid tumors without systemic toxicity. Cell Design Institute @UCSF #SynBio science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…
So excited to announce that the Kappel Lab will open at UCLA UCLA Chem & Biochem in July 2025! We’ll combine high-throughput experiments and computation to build predictive sequence-structure-function models of RNA, proteins, and their interactions. More here: sites.google.com/view/kappellab/
The next frontier of T cell therapeutics when the T also stands for tissue-targeting, such as brain or local immune response, via synthetic gene circuits Science Magazine science.org/doi/10.1126/sc… science.org/doi/10.1126/sc… science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…
From suppressing unwanted immunity to inducing immunity where it counts, SynNotch-engineered T cell can carry diverse payloads to specific locations, allowing for customized effects in numerous treatments bit.ly/4gfNUh8 DrMilosSimic Cell Design Institute @UCSF Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy Nish Reddy
New from Drs. Nish Reddy, Wendell Lim, and others at Cell Design Institute @UCSF! They engineered human T cells to make a synthetic receptor recognizing overactive T cells that can #AutoimmuneDisease and #OrganRejection. 📃Science Magazine: bit.ly/3ZLzWwA 🎧: bit.ly/3BCg72H
#ScienceSaturday Treating #neurological disorders like #brain tumors is difficult in part due to a protective “wall” called the blood-brain barrier, meant to block toxins from reaching brain cells. ➡️ In this study, DrMilosSimic, Nish Reddy, Et al. developed brain-sensing T
I am excited to announce that in March, I will start my lab in the Department of Cancer Biology (Univ. of Pennsylvania Department of Cancer Biology) at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine (Penn Medicine). Stevens.bio
It's official - I am thrilled to share that I am joining MIT Biology, the Koch Institute at MIT, and MIT IMES as an Assistant Professor this fall! We will be a hybrid lab combining new technologies and computation to study ecDNA and tumor evolution. thejoneslaboratory.com
