10 years ago I had a dream to open doors for as many young people as possible. After lots of disappointment with being unable to take our scouts to the WSJ this summer we didn’t let that put us off our passion. Instead we taking our 1V Scouts to Pakistan 🇵🇰

I may be a little biased but the picture of my two children in their neckers in front of the Faisal mosque may be one of my all time favourite pictures! Day 2 in Islamabad was Jumma and we prayed in one of the most beautiful mosques there is 💚

It’s seems the summer for dramatic internationals. Couldn’t be prouder of our young people. We ended up in rather a precarious situation but the resilience in the group was superb. One of our most stressful day in scouts but we got it sorted 💪🏽

Casually driving to 4000m… and the descending one of the craziest roads in the world. Welcome to Bapusar Pass. We avoided fairy meadows because of the roads… hmmm😅 We have rolling hills in Lancashire but the mid Pakistan area is crazy,

We have officially entered the north. Everything in Pakistan takes longer but The views are amazing. We have travelled in NZ and a Norway and skied in a few European resorts but nothing has been as stunning as Pakistan. Feel so privileged to be able to show this to our 1V Scouts

Rakaposhi stbadubg there in 6000+ m in all its glory. It’s the only mountain that you can see the whole mountain from the ground up. 1V Scouts internationals are a little special 💚

Today we welcomed over 40 new members of our community to Tatton Park for our annual Community interaction day. Young people & their parents from Afghanistan, Hong Kong & Ukraine came for a taste of what Cheshire Scouts is all about

Lots of Muslims have reached out to me to say they don't feel safe sharing their opinion about what is happening in Palestine esp in the workplace. Muslamic Makers Has put together a quick survey to get a bit of insight. Please do circulate. docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAI…

This is genuinely one of the most stupidest things I’ve ever read. From *the* official account. So… if Pakistan beat Australia on Tuesday, is that a victory for Hamas?? It doesn’t make any sense 😭 It’s pure bigotry.

Some positive news Now we need to call for & support 1. An immediate ceasefire 2. A negotiated release of all hostages working with our partners in the region 3. Facilitate the return of British nationals trapped in Gaza 4. Restart a peace process with a clear timeframe

“It’s a kind of brutish attempt at harassment… as if my wife did not have enough to worry about" Professor Ghassan Abu-Sittah, a plastic surgeon in Gaza, says police turned up to his family home in the UK today, to ask why he's in Gaza and who paid for his ticket #bbcnewsnight

70+ days of some of the worst atrocities seen in modern day memory. Not one social media post & not a single call for peace in Gaza from the scouts! The church of Bethlehem is calling for a ceasefire & no celebrations. The below is tokenism at its best 🙄 Matt Hyde Carl Hankinson

So disappointed that national youth organisations have failed for months to raise their voices to end the violence against children. For those who claim to be youth led, your silence is deafening… esp when you are partner with the charities on projects.
