Check out this new preprint from Iain de Jonge-Anderson from our research group, on the structure and stratigraphy of the Malay Basin using 3D seismic data. A critical first step in evaluating the CO2 storage potential of the basin.
Then a week of workshops and field trips in Taiwan to understand sedimentary and tectonic processes, onshore and offshore. Thanks to our amazing host Andrew Tien-Shun Lin from NCU. With Débora Duarte
Many thanks to all those who popped by my poster earlier on the final day of IAS Meeting of Sedimentology Aberdeen 2024 A constant theme of #ias2024 for me has been the greater need to consider the role of abrupt climate change in the deposition of the rock record, something I'd like to continue to pursue...
Back home after a fantastic few days at #IAS2024, where I presented my work from the last (almost) two years Seismic Strat & Sedimentology Research Group! #EquatorialAtlanticGateway & #KuroshioCurrent in #Taiwan. Great to see some familiar faces and meet new #sedimentologists in #Aberdeen. IAS Meeting of Sedimentology Aberdeen 2024 🪨🌊
🌍🌎🌏 Thanks Native Scientists
Delighted to finally see our paper documenting the extraordinary seismic architecture of the Nadir Crater published today in Communications Earth & Environment: nature.com/articles/s4324…. See also my blog describing the story 'behind the paper' at communities.springernature.com/posts/3d-anato…
Delighted to see our new paper in nature.com/articles/s4324… Communications Earth & Environment getting some publicity See below for a excellent summary of the paper in the BBC by Georgina Rannard bbc.com/news/articles/…
Interested in impact craters? ☄️🌍 Check this amazing paper by Uisdean Nicholson et al. (happy to be part of this one!)
