Check out this new preprint from Iain de Jonge-Anderson from our research group, on the structure and stratigraphy of the Malay Basin using 3D seismic data. A critical first step in evaluating the CO2 storage potential of the basin.

Just returning from a fantastic 2-week trip in Asia, starting with the IODP3 workshop and field trip in Japan - great to see so much optimism from the scientific drilling community at the start of the new programme. ECORD

The Chi-chi earthquake in Taiwan in 1999 produced a maximum displacement of 9.8 meters and a Mw of 7.6. It will be interesting to see how much displacement the recent #TaiwanEarthquake with a magnitude of 7.4 produced

Many thanks to all those who popped by my poster earlier on the final day of IAS Meeting of Sedimentology Aberdeen 2024 A constant theme of #ias2024 for me has been the greater need to consider the role of abrupt climate change in the deposition of the rock record, something I'd like to continue to pursue...

Back home after a fantastic few days at #IAS2024, where I presented my work from the last (almost) two years Seismic Strat & Sedimentology Research Group! #EquatorialAtlanticGateway & #KuroshioCurrent in #Taiwan. Great to see some familiar faces and meet new #sedimentologists in #Aberdeen. IAS Meeting of Sedimentology Aberdeen 2024 🪨🌊
