Well after extensive searching for a Swallow nest with youngsters in it at a similar age I finally got one with three youngsters. Yesterday I popped along with a big ladder and I popped this guy into the nest. I observed the nest for over a hour and glad to say it was accepted.

There are some birds that you can't help but get excited by no matter how many times you see them and I saw 2 of them on this mornings walk, a Red Kite and a Kingfisher. Other highlights this morning Great Crested Grebes, GSWoodpeckers, a Hare and a lovely fresh Red Admiral.

One of my amazing experiences with Bitterns over the years was when a female flew in front of Isleland mere hide in 2018. She postures like a Pterodactyl, then her neck feathers spiraled out and she moved about as if she was walking on her wings. Soon after a male joined her😊

After 2 failed attempts at finding Rajah Scops-Owl, on Mount Kerinchi at night, it was a huge relief to see this bird in its day roost.

Another bird I've not posted before Western Reef Heron. Taken recently in the Kotu area the #gambia. I think it decided this Monitor Lizard was a little too big to take on.

While at WWT Slimbridge i came across the Leucistic Jackdaw, it was looking for any food that had been dropped on the wooden walkway near the visitor centre. #birds #naturephotography #EastCoastKin #wildlifephotography #ukbirding #birdphotography #BirdLife #photography #wildlife

We were back by the cattle last night. It was amazing, there were at least 500 Yellow Wagtails present. We ringed 75 including this superb adult. The farmer doesn't use insecticides, leaving the birds to control insects. The vet said that the cattle are benefitting as a result.
