Outstanding work by talented doctoral student Pradeepa Pushparaj with great support from Andrea Nicoletto and several others in the group + dedicated collaborators. IgDiscover helps us understand why we respond differently to infections.

Our new paper by Corcoran et al., just out in Immunity, reveals a high variation in human T cell receptor germline genes. The alleles vary greatly in frequency between population groups and some are, surprisingly, inherited from our archaic relatives. authors.elsevier.com/sd/article/S10…

Our paper now out in Immunity authors.elsevier.com/sd/article/S10… doubles the number of known expressed TCR alleles, providing new possibilities in T cell immunology research. Thank you Vetenskapsrådet, European Research Council (ERC) and Karolinska Institutet for supporting our team.

Great collaborators and critical contributors on this study were Mattias Jakobsson, Max Larena and Carolina Bernardsson in Uppsala and Kewei Ye, Taras Kreslavsky, Anna Färnert and @ChrisSundling at KI.

As expected, more lab results on BA.2.86 are coming out. In this detailed thread, Ben Murrell show that BA.2.86 has good neutralisation with XBB.1.5 (i.e. updated vaccines and previous infection), these results were in line with results yesterday, details below.

An outstanding choice - Jan Albert appointed to review and strengthen pandemic preparedness in Sweden. nyheter.ki.se/professor-jan-…
