I agree w/ Tunku Varadarajan that the persecution of his brother Siddharth is unwarranted & has more to do with his fierce criticism of the government on a variety of issues than with any misdemeanour. Unless this kind of behaviour ceases, India will continue to get a bad name globally

The Wire is a victim of criminal fraud by Devesh Kumar. it is not clear whether he was acting on his own or as part of a larger conspiracy. It is interesting that he was not named in Malviya's complaint and FIR. The sequence of events is as follows

re wire, stories on judge loya were countered by an ECG on the IE front page (uncritically cited by a number of reputed journos). it had the wrong date!, wasn't part of subsequent legal filings by govt. Who played the IE, who probed this, what happened to news room processes?
