I’ve had people ask why I’m speaking out, and my answer is this: I have so much pain that I will never be able to get rid of, and so I am choosing to channel it. I intend to use that pain to drive change, and if I can help even one person, then that’s enough.

1/ You only have to follow NI court news to see how often child abuse happens. Many people don’t think it still happens—or don’t want to acknowledge it. But it does. Every day. As a friend said: “Children being abused don’t get to turn away. So why should adults?”

2/ We need to end this. That starts with proper education. Abolish the minimum content order for RSE & rewrite the curriculum with survivors (@BraveMovementNI) to teach kids: 🔹 Grooming signs 🔹 Unsafe adults 🔹 Safe relationships 🔹 Who to trust for help

3/ NI children deserve equal education—no matter their school. If we get this right, we can reduce CSA cases & domestic abuse cases. Education is prevention. Yet, where’s the strategy to protect kids from predators? Homes, churches, sports, online?

4/ Policies mean nothing without proper education. Paul Girvan MP is too busy to meet, but DUP councillors & MLAs—you have our email. Our children need you. Will you act? 1 in 5 children. That’s 6 per classroom. How many do you know? Tag your MLA below. #StopCSA #BraveMovementNI

Can I ask my church going friends and/or those who send children to church Are you aware it is not mandatory for church leaders of any capacity to report abuse? Policies/procedures may well be in place but it is at the discretion of individuals - not legally enforceable

This simple grounding tool can be done anywhere, even in public without anyone noticing. This physical action can calm the nervous system. By focusing on the body, you can interrupt the flow of anxious thoughts and bring your attention back to the present moment.
