The most interesting quote from DJT during 60 Minutes IMO: “You know, we’re an open society. We’re different. We talk about it. We have to talk about it, because otherwise you people are gonna report – they don’t have reporters that [are] gonna be writing about it. We do.”

“It is …difficult to imagine how men who have completely given up the habit of self-government could successfully choose those who should do it for them…The vices of those who govern and the ineptitude of those governed would soon bring it to ruin and…revert to its abasement

When the government opens back up, we should leave the Department of Education shuttered and return those tax dollars to the states. Since it was formed in 1980, no aspect of education has improved. My bill, HR 899, would implement President Trump’s stated goal of abolishing it.

$875.5 billion spent on interest to the federal debt in FY23. That's the FY23 defense budget plus $50 billion. It's more than the GDP of Belgium, Argentina, or Israel. It's double what Russia & Ukraine/Allies have spent in that war since 2022. Wild

Remember 2 years ago when teachers sued the Union demanding financial transparency after bankrolling the current mayor's campaign and found an unexplained line item for a $170k recording studio in New Mexico (with a pool)? Clownnnnns

It’s sub optimal that air traffic controllers are federal government employees in the United States. Other airport staff are private employees. No real reason ATC shouldn’t be too.

One sad thing I learned writing about fraternities and sororities for ~10 years was that - despite their historic reliance on 1st amendment protections to avoid court-ordered shutdowns - none of the fraternity/sorority professionals or students give a shit about free speech.

Time to debunk the “nobody is a libertarian” chart, since it’s going viral again. Anytime you see a heat map purporting to show that nobody holds a combination of economic conservative and social liberal views, you should be skeptical. They almost always manufacture that result

This was one of my favorite things about watching Bulls games with my Dad during my childhood. Don't worry, this intro was a real thing back then, in case anyone chooses to share it 😆 😄

If you can figure out how to configure your default state to be slightly amused rather than slightly annoyed you pretty much enter God Mode

Principled people will always be upsetting to unprincipled people in the world of politics. Almost everyone who works in politics enters the arena wanting to be principled, but nearly all collapse under pressure. Principled people are a constant reminder of this personal failure.
