If haki dictates sword skill then all Luffy would have to do is pick up a sword and he's then a better swordsman than Zoro. Making swordsmanship a redundant and unremarkable fighting style. Which I don't think is the case.

Mihawk not fighting Shanks since he lost his arm anymore is the clearest indicator Oda can give these sword guzzlers that the swordsmanship duels they had is different to 2 ppl with swords in an all out fight. Also why Oda only specified sword skill in their next comparison.
