.BBC Radio Ulster look the bottom line is that children should not be disappointed compared to wider public safety issues - who cares about asbestos or hospital electricity supplies - children must not be disappointed!! No adults in the DUP this afternoon apparently

.BBC Radio Ulster just more evidence of political & governance failure here. The city council could have arranged removal of that asbestos for years, local community & elected reps could have engaged & arranged resiting of that fire months ago. Why didn’t they ?!?!

I believe BBC Radio Ulster Talkback covered the asbestos on the bonfire site on 20 May past. 7 weeks ago. Belfast City Councillors were on wringing their hands & they leave it until the last minute to intervene! Total cack handedness.

.BBC Radio Ulster If that pile of asbestos & adjacent bonfire wasn’t in an inner city working class community it’d have been dealt with years ago. What we learned from Bob Stoker earlier around the storm is appalling

.BBC Radio Ulster yeah “where were the SDLP & Sinn Fein” in relation to the asbestos all these years and where were the local unionist & in particular DUP representatives all these years? Some representation indeed!!

.BBC Radio Ulster asbestos is safe depending on type & how treated. Here is a pic of “suspected asbestos”. It would need tested in accredited laboratory to confirm. I’ll not be out there breaking it up, scrubbing it with a wire brush & so on. If it needed removed I’d follow H&S

.BBC Radio Ulster real political leadership would lead a community based campaign against the asbestos on that site, engage an environmental lawyer(s) & hold to account government & Belfast City Council for their actions & inactions.

.BBC Radio Ulster the issue re Ryanair is that bags that are bought to & comply with their measurement criteria are penalised - seen it & narrowly avoided it myself last year - & the staff were zealous in their scrutiny

.BBC Radio Ulster those AgriSearch comments about food security are nonsense. We produce too much meat & dairy & hence the pollutants associated with that & import fruit and vegetables. We aren’t food secure right now.

.BBC Radio Ulster just to note there is hardly more of an establishment organisation in the UK than the Royal College of Nursing

.BBC Radio Ulster we need a bigger better vision for the city deal £. There are options to invest in existing heritage assets &/or to have more radical thinking around enabling active travel tourism eg safe interconnected cycling routes around the whole AONB for example

.BBC Radio Ulster please remind Sarah Bunting that she was happy for a bonfire to go ahead on that site with the asbestos present.
