Today’s health heat risk in South East QLD is “extreme”- ie a threat to everyone’s health. Kids are more at risk (parentsforclimate.org/hothouse_austr…) so keeping them cool is a priority. Be sure to take extra care to avoid prolonged heat exposure. (Readings via heatwatch.sydney.edu.au)

Today could be the hottest day in Australia's history, with temperatures up to 125°F (51.7°C) possible in Western Australia and potentially the highest temperature ever recorded in the Southern Hemisphere. Just brutal extreme heat.

Energy, resources and finance experts agree: nuclear energy is a terrible idea for Australia. Our shift to clean energy is already under way, with 40% of the power in our main national grid coming from renewables. Quite simply: later is too late abc.net.au/news/2024-06-1…

I’m back on the bus to Canberra! And I’ve got the names of 500 Northern Territory Parents for Climate with me. I’m going to the Senate Inquiry into the Middle Arm Industrial Hub - a project that threatens our kids’ climate and safety (backed by a $1.5billion public subsidy!)
