how did “in the zeitgeist” get to be in the zeitgeist again?

I did a… certain tweet two weeks ago. Something about insulin. You probably saw it. Anyway, here’s why I did it:

Railroad workers grind themselves to the bone for this country as their labor produces billions for Wall St. They demand the basic dignity of paid sick days. I stand with them. If Congress intervenes, it should be to have workers’ backs and secure their demands in legislation.

Increasing the labor power of employees at corporate media organizations is one of the keys to have any chance of ultimately changing all of the many ways in which those institutions serve power and wealth, from what stories they consider news to how they cover those stories.

the cvs near me is becoming too allegorical—no one works there except for the security guard who stands at the entrance. if the self checkout machine doesn’t work all you can do is leave. the pharmacy is never open and 80% of the merchandise is behind a lock

Next week Alaskans could pass a ballot measure to raise the minimum wage to $15, give workers paid sick days, and ban bosses from making workers attend anti-union meetings. It's incredibly popular, in one of the "reddest" states in the nation.
