Has anyone seen cool projects with the Naneye cameras? 320x320 60fps in a 1mmx1mm package for <$100. They're disposable surgery parts but also just like, on digikey. Four year old part at this point, where are the cool projects??

Half baked idea of the evening: Signal modernization for rail is a huge pain bc you can’t just rip the whole thing out in favor of centralized control, bc you can never universally trust your datalink to ALL vehicles. How many 9s does starlink have for like 2kbps links?

Finally tried Apple Vision Pro in store yesterday. Frustratingly on rails demo, wish they’d just leave me w it for 30 mins instead. Scattered thoughts: Hardware is very impressive, almost unnoticeable pass thru. A lot of kinda unforced errors in sw, eg center of rotation for

I heard an inchoate version of this book at a Byrne Hobart talk via (IIRC) a progress studies meetup right before covid. Beyond hyped to read it longform

There’s room for bold policy here. Commit the US government to buying and freely licensing one of the major cad packages, and make the companies submit blind bids. “We are going to make your product or your competitor’s free. Tell us what you think a fair price is.”
