It's inherent human laziness. Actual physics (beyond Newton) *feels* fake until you know a critical amount. Made-up/fantasy physics makes sense to people now without much effort. Immediate payoff will almost always beat time and effort, even when the immediate payoff is wrong.

Over the last few months, we've been working to merge our studio and office. This next video is the first to be filmed in the new space and it feels good that it's finally ready.

the major problem that humanity faces is that we are really bad at foreseeing and, if necessary, correcting the emergent collective trends of individual actions in the context of the systems we have created for our interactions

It's difficult to understand my own financial struggles when my income is higher than my (blue collar) parents' combined income when I was growing up... until I realize, after adjusting for inflation I make *significantly* less. 😥💀

The older I get, the more I'm convinced that all our technology can secretly detect a human user's age. JUST DO WHAT I WANT YOU TO DO!!!

The reason people don't *think* progress has been made in physics is because they don't *hear* about the progress. Most of it isn't particularly newsworthy, but it is happening. In short: 99% of progess is boring to a general audiance.

You know... It's really annoying when people think of physics and only imagine experimental stuff. As a theoretical physicist, my graduate work only required pens, paper, and a computer.
