Good thread. And, in many cases across sports, (we don't know how many as not disclosed), samples aren't even tested using best methods for detecting EPO and exogenous testosterone

According to the recently released 2021 WADA Anti-Doping Rule Violation report, 6 footballers failed doping tests that year yet their cases are still pending. WADA’s states cases should be dealt with in a ‘timely’ manner with a guideline of 6 months. Yet here we are 4yrs later.
