In System Initiative, testing the functions you create, update and use is faster than ever before. You can change which binding you are using to dynamically change the inputs.

Generating code, qualifying configurations and running your own custom attribute functions: all fair game.

You ever just solve something in programming by just raw mental brute force? I mean that literally. Like fully dumb dumb mode or “my brain is already melted”, but you just brained your way through it.

How do you all manage your TODOs? (both method and medium)

GTD works for me in bursts, but I find that sometimes I want pen and paper, or Apple Notes/Reminders or something else in-browser for my Linux and Windows machines. The capture points get messy and so does the method.

Feature parity between SI on the new engine and SI on the old engine is very close 🤏. We’re almost there!

Okay, since steve o'grady is a pal, here are my thoughts on IBM buying Hashicorp. First - congratulations to all my Hashicorp people - it's an incredible accomplishment to have built a company like that, and a crazy thing to have someone value what you built at $4B+. Congratulations.

I will never forget NetApp’s CIT system. The wall has an infinitely better chance of holding than any human will.

JetBrains IDE users: do you remote into other systems? I’ve done it in the past but I’m considering doing it over Tailscale given increasingly performance complexity of the things I’m working on.

Haven’t had much to say on here recently because we’ve been working hard to get the new engine stable on main.

We’re close to parity, but what’s even more exciting is just how much more performant and scalable the system is already.
