Now, there is one last step. We all have to show up on Dec 12th & vote YES to keep OKC big league. By continuing to invest in ourselves - and without a tax increase - we can secure this remarkable renaissance for another generation. Let’s finish the job on December 12th. (4/4)

The month of October is a busy one for the office. We're working on the ARPA SLFRF Grant Program, Digital Promise Tour, and BEAD Initial Proposal Volume I & II. Here is an update from Director Mike Sanders. #BEAD #OKDigitalPromise

I have to say - not having a reliable system for knowing who to trust (much less a reality in which a verified checkmark is best understood as a sign that you're not trustworthy) has made this website far less useful in moments like this

Oklahoma is eager for high-speed internet! Oklahoma Broadband Office received over 300 ARPA project proposals with a combined value that's almost 14 times greater than the amount of available program funding! This high demand speaks to the real internet needs in many Oklahoma communities.

So, this photo is the first. Thank you so much to Michael Sanders & his wonderful staff @ Oklahoma Broadband in OKC. The only way I could fit in the photo was to lay on the furniture, so who am I to say no when I'm getting a pile of money. 💰 Thank you so much Michael OG&E

Just finished a Broadband Commission mtg that required 142 separate motions and votes. The good news? The first round of Oklahoma broadband expansion projects have been approved.

Mike Sanders & his team have done an excellent job standing up our Broadband office & approving projects for Oklahomans across our state. The goal is clear & in sight: to develop & administer grant programs to make affordable, high-speed internet available to all Oklahomans

Not a top job, you say? - No. 2 in total attendance (2022-2023) - No. 2 national coaching salary with Calipari - T-No. 10 Final Four appearances - No. 14 overall program win percentage (64.0%) - No. 15 overall NCAAT bids - One national championship - Three Hall of Fame coaches

This is our moment to make history, the same way the Rural Electrification Act impacted the 1930s oklahoman.com/story/opinion/…

We’ve got projects filling up the map! The State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund project map reveals the extensive reach this program will have in Oklahoma. For example, Choctaw County (shown below) will have its number of unserved locations cut in half!

Another project launched! This afternoon the office was invited by East Central Oklahoma Electric Cooperative to commemorate the launch of a broadband project in Creek County serving 250+ homes and businesses. We were grateful to be joined by Representatives Kyle Hilbert and Scott Fetgatter. Onward! 🛜

While addressing the crowd at last week's groundbreaking ceremony in Slick, Representative and Speaker-Designate Kyle Hilbert mentioned that the rural broadband project was a prime example of what the Legislature wanted to accomplish when it created the office.

Tuesday’s parade route was 2 miles long and packed beyond comprehension for its entire length. Plus, there was an enormous crowd at Scissortail Park. Here are some images that attempt to capture the magnitude, some of which were taken by City of OKC staffer Kevin Oravetz.
