I have a brief story I want to tell about the Tech Right, the Trump administration, and immigration. In June 2024, Trump went on the All In podcast and said we should make it easier for international students who graduate from top US colleges to become citizens. "It's so sad

Sonny Bunch Similarly, I think this doesn't give enough credit to a show like Fallout, which somehow balances recreating enormous amounts of stuff from the games but with new plot, characters, a recognizable voice, etc. Just saying "oh they figured out the prestige formula" undersells it.

Sonny Bunch My eye is twitching writing this, but I think the best hope for what this writer wants is the Michael Bay Skibidi Toilet movie, not a game but a digitial object that is too weird and sparse to "faithfully" adapt

Benjy Sarlin Sonny Bunch I played a lot of Fallout. Wife played no Fallout. Son played some Fallout. We all *loved* the series. But the teen mostly plays Overwatch or (especially) Fortnite. So outrageously successful games aren't necessarily "serious" or "deep."

The DC Streetcar will be phased out after just a little over a decade in service — not much longer than it took to build. In its place Mayor Bowser promises a ā€œnext generation streetcar,ā€ otherwise known as an electric bus

Only one state swung more towards Trump than New Jersey did. But the state's Democratic primary for governor is all about who will fight him the hardest: wapo.st/4mCCCHo

It's a real testament to the limits of money in politics that Elon Musk spent ~$300m minimum to elect a president and got a giant pile of tariffs, repeal of clean energy and EV credits, a crackdown on student visas, etc, etc etc along with a budget bill he openly opposes

NEW: Gov Jared Polis (D) has vetoed a bill banning surprise billing by ambulance companies. The bill passed the Colorado legislature by *unanimous* votes in both chambers. #copolitics

Kyle Clark (@kyleclark) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Polis' veto letter said the benefit of preventing surprise billing to consumers was outweighed by the potential for rate increases if surprise billing was regulated by the state government.
