Saw this in the midst of cleaning up a long R script and spent the better part of today converting it to an Rmarkdown Notebook. Time well spent I’d say.

A lot of medical research is slowed down by ethics regulations that don't make a difference to patient safety. Experienced this first hand & working on smth to change it. If you are someone who has been slowed down forever by IRBs re for example biospecimen collection pls DM.

tl;dr avoid dependencies and code your own functions when possible. If needed import only specific functions from libraries. This would've been counterintuitive to me when I started programming but makes more sense to me now. Actively removing dependencies from a script rn.
