At the Teagasc #BEEF2024 Open Day this Wednesday (26th June) Veterinary Research Officer John Donlon (and Betsy) will run a calving demonstration in the Suckler Village. Be sure to attend to this demo to hear about the principles of calving the suckler cow

There is a lot of interest in the dairy beef village at #BEEF2024, especially the live demos showcasing the difference in commercial beef value (CBV) in calves.

Delighted to give the opening address at the Beef 2024 Forum organised by Teagasc. The Grange open day is always an important date on the calendar & a great opportunity to meet those equally interested in beef production. The fine weather made the event all the more enjoyable.

Second cut red clover/PRG hitting the ground tonight. Headlands very patchy after slurry tanker traffic. 11 bales/ac in first cut and 5/6 again here I’m guessing!

Red clover silage can reduce reliance on inorganic N and improve sustainability metrics.
