In Lingwe, Matabeleland South, children are raising their voices about climate change. Living through droughts, the El Niño-induced one has united their community. Hear their powerful stories and perspectives. EU Delegation to Zimbabwe 🇪🇺 Bundesentwicklungsministerium via KfW Development Bank CERF - The UN's emergency fund UKinZimbabwe 🇬🇧 🇿🇼

A community affected by the El Niño-induced drought is grateful for the water-piped scheme supporting the community and the local school. The EU Delegation to Zimbabwe 🇪🇺-funded Enhanced Resilience for Vulnerable Households in Zimbabwe (ERVHIZ) initiative is a lifesaver!

As UNICEF ZIMBABWE Rep, I urge journalists to use evidence-based sources when reporting on children in Zimbabwe. UNICEF's data repository is a key resource for accurate and impactful stories on child rights and well-being. Thanks to Govt and partners for aggregating the data.

The ongoing drought will severely impact child nutrition next year, depleting household food stocks. UNICEF ZIMBABWE appeals for USD 84.9m to support its emergency response. This will provide life-saving aid to 1.34 million people, including 866k children affected by #ElNiño.

Today at #COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan, PS Amb. Chifamba of Min of Environment, Climate and Wildlife Zimbabwe, supported by UNICEF's Director of Programmes George Laryea-Adjei, Dep Rep Programmes @adamvalent Zeinab Adam, & Youth Advocate Jean Bertrand, launched the Report on Impacts of Climate Change on Child Health.

UNICEF Zimbabwe, in partnership with Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency - ZIMSTAT & key stakeholders, is customizing the #MICS questionnaire in Bulawayo. This effort bridges critical data gaps, ensuring child-related indicators guide evidence-based policies for NDS1 & the development of NDS2. #ForEveryChild
