Our guest-edited issue of Bunyan Studies (coming from our day conference in conjunction with International John Bunyan Society last April) is now available. Lots of great scholarship here on writing religious identities in the southwest and beyond.

I’m going to be insufferable this week: because THE BOOK FORGER comes out on Thursday!! Order it now and you’ll have 321 pages of bookish skulduggery and detection to enjoy over the weekend. Some early praise (my ego needs it): x.com/JosephHone_/st…

Ironically, I was commenting to my wife last night how integral the grain trade is to historical events and it would be great to have a really ambitious cross-period study of it...

Good thread. One could also add that the sums of money granted to individual projects are tiny in the context of STEM research budgets and wider university sector: we’re doing major research with small change.

Signposting University of Exeter's Renaissance MA once more. We are part of the dynamic CEMS Exeter research centre and have one of the biggest concentration of early modern and Shakespeare specialists in the UK teaching on this research-led intensive course. youtube.com/watch?v=5_b3Xj…

My article on hypocrisy and sincerity in Exeter Dissenting sermons is now out (open access for anyone to read). As far as I know this is the first ever publication on a 26 vol MS collection of 17th/18th century sermons held by the The Devon and Exeter Institution. doi.org/10.1017/stc.20…

This course is such a joy to teach and produces amazing student work every year. I run the “Bodies Politic” module which explores various kinds of connections between political writing and bodily identities in this crucial period. Please consider applying!
