Our study led by SUN CONGXIN & Dr. Elena Seranova with @VIKorolchuk, funded by Wellcome & LifeArc, on loss of #autophagy depleting #NAD to cause cell death of human neurons, having implications for #ageing and #neurodegeneration, is out now in Cell Reports cell.com/cell-reports/f…

A big thank you to our organisers Sovan Sarkar @VIKorolchuk for a fantastic meeting &thank you to the speakers and poster presenters for great participation &discussion.Wishing you all a safe journey home and #watchthisspace for next years meeting announcements! #AtgUK23 #AtgUK24

Thank you Sovan Sarkar and @VIKorolchuk for organising an excellent meeting #AtgUK23!

Since the discovery of CRISPR-Cas systems, people have wondered if a similar type of system exists in eukaryotes. Today, we report in nature the characterization of Fanzor, a eukaryotic RNA-guided system that can be reprogrammed for human genome editing. nature.com/articles/s4158…

Pleased to share my first review paper, published in BioEssays, on the evolution of selective autophagy receptors. Thanks to co-first author Tetsushi Kataura, as well as Gisela Otten and @VIKorolchuk onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.10…

Super exciting to see our work featured on the cover of EMBO Reports The artform illustrates that CML cells require uptake of extracellular arginine for survival Shout-out to Kevin Rattigan for leading the experimental work and Hanna Salmonowicz for the amazing art design 🩸🎨

Women are born with all their oocytes, which need to stay viable for decades to ensure fertility. How are they maintained for that long? Our latest research in Nature Cell Biology reveals that oocyte maintenance involves exceptional protein longevity. nature.com/articles/s4155… (1/9)
