This is in no way meant to be criticism of Hammy, but I hope our fans are ready to seriously temper expectations this season. It’s the first time in ages our manager isn’t going into a L1 season with a (semi) Champ squad. We’ve not got a high budget. Midtable would be decent #rufc

Knock the ball up to somewhere near Humphreys then play off him when Nombe/Hugill inevitably win the header. Hammy saw enough. Great half #rufc

Delighted with the win and a lot of we saw in the first half, but that second half was unbelievably bad. Like an exhibition in how not to play with an extra man/2-goal lead - lucky to draw. However, lots of new players gelling and a young side, so hopefully we learn from it. #rufc

No doubt plenty of #rufc fans who watched Artell’s Grimsby last night and thought he’d be a great appointment whilst ready to boo if we lose at Donny on Saturday and aren’t immediately winning games with these new young players.

Holmes deserved MOTM - the definition of ‘didn’t put a foot wrong’. Shout to McWilliams too; he was everywhere. I think playing alongside him will really help Gore, who was v good. Yes the oppo were crap, but we had three injuries and never looked like conceding. A good day #rufc

Probably worth a reminder of the replies when our last rookie manager was having a bad run in his first season in League 1. Thankfully he was given time, we improved considerably and he gave us some of the best years we’ve ever had 👍 #rufc

Shame that. Loads to like, esp going forward. Dawson’s best game of the season too. But let down by two exceptionally poor centre half performances (admittedly from young lads who will improve). Raggett’s injury woes have been a real killer. Plenty of positives though 👍 #rufc

‘Can’t blame Agbaire and Baptiste, they’re at the start of their careers and are bound to make mistakes. They’ll learn and improve’. Really really fair point. Level-headed and completely reasonable. Now apply that to the manager who’s ten games in and we’re laughing 👍 #rufc

Wow, that’s some comeback in a game that - judging by some of the half time comments on here - appears to have been our most important game of the season. Fantastic to see the substitute get the winner. Well done lads 👏 #rufc

Interesting that, for all we’re third bottom, we haven’t lost to a side below 12th in the table. Played each of the top 5 in 11 games. Pretty dominant against Northampton and Exeter. Hopefully enough there to suggest we are better than current league position suggests. #rufc

Thank you to Matt Taylor for sharing this story. It is a difficult one but Matt and his family want it out there in Elsie’s memory. Always worth a reminder too that people in football are dealing with much more important things than their job. skysports.com/football/news/…

We were sharper, stronger and better than a (don’t be fooled) very decent Lincoln team. All without a recognised senior centre half. The best display under Hammy by an absolute mile. Superb #rufc

Didn’t feel old until realising that neither Sherif or Ayres were even born when Trevor Kettle screwed us at Barnsley in 2005 #rufc

Thought that was, overall, excellent. I think Wycombe are one of the better sides at the level and we had them on the ropes for much of the second half. Enjoying watching us at the moment - very promising. Just needed a bit more quality on crosses into the box #rufc

Pro-VAR people say ‘you’d want VAR if it meant the right decision for your team’. This would 100% have been disallowed yesterday with VAR. I’d still 100% rather never have VAR in a game I watch. Poor decision, it happens, don’t ruin the sport for the odd officiating error. #rufc

Watching grown men wet the bed about how crap the team/Hamshaw/everything about RUFC is all season, then taking issue with a neutral who pointed out the exact same issues MIGHT just be the maddest thing I’ve seen on here this season. And that’s saying something. #rufc
