On the SureStart thing: I taught Adult Ed and Family Learning for a few years, working with many SureStart centres, and those places were absolute lifelines. I cannot stress that enough. And all that support, all that early intervention they did, just stopped. What a loss.

Wow.

I wish you’d met my Year 9s, so you would know what an unbelievably huge deal it is that they listened and followed and read and loved this whole book in one sitting today. It’s not the way I normally teach, but breaking the spell was not an option! So glad books like this exist.

Anyone know of an intervention programme for punctuation specifically, for students who’ve got to KS4 and are still fundamentally not getting it? Tried lots of things in class but have a few who need to go back to basics.

Such a brilliant poetry day today with Poetry School and Isy Mead ❤️ and some very cool people AND found a place at Waterloo Pure that does breakfast pots of eggs with toppings - a gluten free win of a day!
