Rain, sleet, or snow, NHCFR is always ready. Last night, Station 18, led by Capt. Mike Cross, quickly extinguished a fully engulfed truck fire at Monkey Junction Walmart, preventing the flames from spreading to the store and gas pumps.

In conjunction with the statewide open burn ban issued by the NC Forest Service, the New Hanover County Fire Marshal’s Office will implement a local burn ban that applies to all areas within the county, including those within 100 ft of dwellings. See more: loom.ly/dV5ey6w

Blue Clay Rd is closed due to a fire in the 3000 block area. A detour is set up at Old Mill Rd and Teddy Rd. Avoid the area if possible.
