I'd heard a wonderful but strange story about Mary's Church, Pontrhydfendigiad. I found the proof - the left leg and part of the thigh of Henry Hughes Cooper was cut off and buried here June the 18th, 1756. He lived in America but wanted part of his remains to be buried in Wales

Lovely visit to St Donats Church, a 12thc church with an apsed chancel. Altered in early 14thc, the tower was added, which was followed towards the late 14c by the Lady Chapel, known as the Stradling Chapel. In the 15thc the chancel was rebuilt and the nave the following century.

The old Fourah Bay College is located in the east end of Freetown, the capital of Sierra Leone. They started building the college in 1822 and it opened in 1827 as the first institution of higher learning in modern sub-Saharan Africa

Spent a few hours looking around this lovely Arts & Crafts parish hall in Dinas Powys this week. Built in 1907 and opened by Mrs Jenner of Wenvoe Castle. Designed by Teather and Wilson, a cardiff architects practice. #listedbuilding #welshhistory #heritage #surveying
