New on Athlon Sports: I'm so happy that the NFL has finally established a "Protector of the Year" award for the best offensive lineman. Here's why I believe that Penei Sewell of the Detroit Lions would (or should) have won it last year. athlonsports.com/nfl/detroit-li…

New on SB Nation NFL 🏈: The "Hidden Gems" series continues with the Washington Commanders' most underrated veteran, free-agent signing, and draft pick. It's Dan Quinn's two-city pass-rusher, a former seventh-overall pick, and Jayden Daniels' new deep threat. hogshaven.com/2025/5/23/2443….

It's not easy to play safety in a Steve Spagnuolo defense, because you're asked to do a lot. 2024 rookie Jaden Hicks proved adept at everything from MOFC deep-third coverage to blowing up screens and blitzing from the line and second level. This is one to watch.

36 years ago this week, the world lost Gilda Radner. I often think of Steve Martin's monologue the day she passed. Holding back tears, and at the end, releasing the audience to let them know it's okay to laugh.

One of the best hybrid CBs in the league. He's the NFC's Trent McDuffie. Can play in or outside at a very high level. Both are excellent tacklers as well. --

Good question. I count them as Pro Football Focus does — half-sacks as whole sacks. I believe that if you get to the quarterback the same time as someone else does, you still got to the quarterback. And half-sacks aren’t always judged the same.

Exactly. Here are Armstrong's three "half sacks" in 2024. In each case, the effort given, and the distance traveled, stand out. I'm giving him those sacks. :)
