You do not need pads to get great a shoulder tackling fundamentals - Pad level, footwork, track the near hip, closing space, etc #shouldertackling #youthfootballcoach #footballcoachingtips #shoulderstrike #noyardsaftercontact

This is a great example of a ROBOT technique - roll off back on to! Play action to you with boot coming back - LB must identify the crosser or dig coming from the play action side. We drilled this in prep for Wing T offenses running “boot flood”. #robot #youthtacklefootball

Cardinals in their Mint/Tite package going from a 3-High Mint & spinning to a 3-4 Base look pre-snap vs. the Chargers. With Safety Budda Baker as the adjuster & hybrid off-ball LB Mack Wilson able to rush from the edge, Arizona can get into multiple looks pre- & post-snap. --

Nebraska HC Matt Rhule - Maximizing Practice Reps - Based on advice from Tom Osborne & Frank Solich - Use multiple stations to get as many reps as possible simultaneously - As players play more football, they like more football - Develop by doing vs watching

Great situational drill - smoke route to the slot with the apex player breaking on the route or quick screen to 1 in the boundary with the CB breaking on the ball. #shouldertackling #footballdrills #leverage #noyardsaftercontact #youthfootballcoach #youthfootballcoachingtips

Excellent pad level throughout the drill. Almost perfect contact point. Proper pad level eliminates the need to change levels in profile or form situations - increases contact readiness.

Penn State DC Jim Knowles - LEO LB Mug Alignment - "He actually becomes a flex 3 technique. Really good in today's game vs pullers. In particular versus a team that runs GT Counter Read." - Used to read the Guard to the side of the back and add numbers back to the play side. -

Excellent coaching here! Near foot, near shoulder (power position) in block destruction! Also want to note, the active feet - “play with your eyes and feet”
