The canal along I-10 near the Veterans exit in Metairie overflowed onto the highway. Water has also creeped into the nearby car dealership, apartment complex and businesses. Don’t be on the roads if you don’t have to be. FOX 8 New Orleans

Neighbors along Tulane Drive in Kenner are vacuuming cars and gutting furniture from homes after a canal just behind the neighborhood overflowed with rain water from Hurricane Francine. Neighbors tell me it has never been this bad, even through Hurricane Ida. FOX 8 New Orleans

In Kenner, people who flooded by the Tulane Drive canal caught the fish that swam into streets and are preparing them for dinner. People say it’s been a tough morning cleaning up after Hurricane Francine but they’re trying to stay positive. FOX 8 New Orleans

I’m really happy FOX 8 New Orleans was able to push real-time news about Hurricane Francine in Spanish on TV and social media. South Louisiana is home to a growing population of Spanish-speakers and I’m proud I can keep people informed in my hometown in two different languages.
