Moorhen Chick The Moorhen name is a corruption of the English language: the "moor" in this case refers to "meres", or small lakes, and the name moorhen simply means "bird of the marshes". #photohour #TwitterNatureCommunity #nearbywild #iNatureUK RSPB

Spring in the ancient woodland and some lovely morning light. Probably my favourite tree in this location when the sky is blue and the sun is shining.

Just back from a week in Northern Spain. So quiet and some fabulous locations. Have a ton of shots to work through, this one features a rather brutalist lighthouse in a fabulous setting. My entry for #WexMondays and #fsprintmonday

Old Man of Storr. What a morning ! We hiked up through the knee deep snow with the swirling mist and fog as we passed through the pinnacle and rocky outcrop. We got to the top and the weather really closed in but we waited it out for sunrise. I'll dig that out for tomorrow :)

Another one from a cloud filled Dorset woodland, high up on the chalk hills in the north of the county. The leaves are just starting to lose their vibrant spring greens here now, and turning to their deeper Summer hues. #Dorset #woodland

If you're looking for a UK photography workshop, you couldn't do much better than attend one of these run by Jon Gibbs. Two very different places, but both fantastic for photography and the tuition will be first class. jon-gibbs.co.uk/assynt-workshop jon-gibbs.co.uk/norfolk-coast-…

There's a war going on, a new wave of Covid starting, the cost of living is rising sharply, nature is being depleted at an alarming rate and a climate crisis beckons, so what are we going to protest about? Wheelie bins!
