1/2 This morning just after 1130am the All Weather Lifeboat was requested to launch by HM Coastguard after they received a satellite distress signal from a maritime beacon. Rescue 116 attended the area the signal was coming from & along with Coastguard rescue teams & Police Newry, Mourne and Down

2/2 The beacon was finally located in an outhouse at a private dwelling. Please make sure your distress beacon is registered and disposed of appropriately when you are finished with it.
