When this came out my SF2 buddies bought joysticks and buttons from the local arcade shop. Built boxes and soldered directly to the SNES controller PCB. We built sticks to practice on at home. Pic of actual 1992 stick below! Practiced every weekend to kick ass at the arcades.

I hacked MAME and added vector drawing callbacks to the video engine. Then I wrote a LUA script to register those callbacks and send the serial data to my HP vector WarGames display to display. So MAME emulates the original Atari vector code, and I intercept all vector draw

I was today years old.. Did you know Dhalsim is in the background cover art of the USA Version of Street Fighter II Turbo? Artist Mick McGinty's clean original art shows him clearly teleporting behing Honda and Sagat, but he was obscured on the final box by the title logo
