UPDATE: The level crossing at Boat of Kintore is now operating by manual control and trains can run over the level crossing again.

Network Rail is advising passengers that platforms 4 & 5 at #Glasgow Queen Street will close from mid-September to mid-October, as engineers deliver the final phase of platform extension work at station More details here. gapi.io/65VA #GQS

Following the recent completion of extensions to platforms 2 & 3, we will now undertake the same activity at platforms 4 & 5.   Extending platforms by 26m enables longer trains of up to eight carriages to use station – providing more seats for passengers. #GQS

As part of the £120m project to enhance & expand Scotland’s third-busiest station, platforms 4 & 5 will close from Monday, 16 September and reopen for start of service on Monday, 14 October #GQS

During platform closure, engineers will dig out sections of concourse, rebuild sections of platform walls, lay new track & connect to existing infrastructure, extend overhead power lines, install coping stones, and carry-out re-surfacing works. #GQS
