Primary 1 have had a busy week in numeracy and maths! We explored the seasons, practised number bonds to 5, and identified the number before/after to 10 — all while exercising our right to an education (UNCRC Article 28). 🍂🔢✨

As we strive to become a Gold Rights Respecting School, you may have noticed a few changes. We have renamed some of our awards. Riley is our Rights mascot and he has been busy in and around the school getting to know everyone a bit better.

The Owl Babies have arrived in Primary 1 🦉✨ We used natural materials to build cosy nests for the babies, and even created a giant mummy owl! 🌿🤎 Linking to our right to learn and play (UNCRC Article 31).

Working in partnership with Jamie Campbell and the Coalfields Regeneration Trust, the school succeasfully bid for a grant through the Family Hub Project. We are supporting families by providing laundry and cleaning packs - watch out for these next week in the playground.

It was lovely to see so many of our parents/carers tonight. Thank you also to our parent council for helping us.

Primary 1 had a brilliant Children in Need day! 💛 BBC Children in Need We did some Pudsey Phonics, soaked Miss Donnelly (sorry! 😂), created Pudsey TV programmes in our home corner 📺🐻, and learned how BBC Children in Need helps children access their rights ⭐ (UNCRC Article 27)

We raised over £500 for BBC Children in Need today. Thank you to everyone who donated. I think the children and staff enjoyed soaking me. All for a great cause ❤️

P1/2 have just arrived at Kelvingrove . Having a quick snack before their fun activities!

What an exciting morning P1/2 have had. We have explored dinosaur fossils and their environments. We even held a dinosaur poo!

Our JRSO presented at our assembly this morning. They gave us some hints and tips about being safe and linked it to our rights. We will be taking part in be bright be seen on Friday 21st November where you can wear bright clothes to school.

After the success of the Scotland team last night we were discussing our National Anthem during assembly. We are learning to sing this in preparation for the World Cup Scotland National Team
