Took four new students from Egypt to football practice this afternoon. They had indicated an interest during lunch. They also got to meet a couple of players at noon! It was exciting to see practice. I taught them all. Know about football!
Love the beginning of the Fall Semester! Picked up The Standard Back To School issue and went through it page-by-page. One can learn interesting things doing that.
New students from Nepal! Have also met students from Russia, Ethiopia, Tunisia, Nigeria, and Pakistan and have met two visiting scholars from Uzbekistan! Pretty interesting.
We had a great Saturday. Missouri state football won on the road, Oklahoma won, and Stanford beat Oregon-what a finish. Why Stanford? Our “son-in-law” graduated from there!
So far, half of a good Saturday! Oklahoma beat Texas 55-48! What a game. When I was in the band at OU, we always wanted to beat Nebraska, Texas, and Oklahoma State. Two down and one to go this season!
Come on Bears, beat the Penguins. Make the Bear Roar!
Wonderful Bears Medallion event Thursday evening. Able to reconnect with so many terrific supporters of Missouri State. Everyone there had something in common——love for Missouri State! Go Bears!
I’ll say again. Other than move-in weekend in the Fall, Commencement is the best day of the semester. What an honor it is to get to read names of the graduates! Congratulations to all.
Shannon Aiken just won 1st Place in the NOBULL CrossFit Games for the 60-64 age group. This is an international competition held in Madison WI. We watched all of this grueling three day event. Shannon is a Safety Officer at MissouriState!
Over 300 student musicians, three conductors, and two faculty gave a wonderful performance today of A Sea Symphony. Missouri State knows how to do the arts!
Here I am with Yatin and Shaka my tutors for learning how to better pronounce Asian Indian names. We worked together for almost 2hours. I should do better at the three commencement ceremonies a week from today!
John and I enjoyed going to the MVC Individual Tennis Tournament at Cooper Sports Complex yesterday and today. OurBears really worked hard. Beautiful days to be outside.
Go Bears!
Pen, highlighter, water, cough drops, stack of paper! What were Tonia and I doing for three hours? Practicing ALL of the names for commencement on Friday! We mad3 it through all of them. Hopefully we can on Friday! 😊
Still from South Carolina. Just as we came from the parking garage a man stopped me and said “I’m a Bear!” Yes, Brian Berry received his Master’s in Social Work at MSU (thenSMSU)! We had to take a picture. Pays to wear a BEAR shirt!
