According to UCLA Health, on June 24, 2025 two men purporting to be ICE brought in someone who suffered a medical episode, police were called to verify their credentials and upon confirming them, the person was released to ICE custody a few hours later.

This kind of situation reflects a danger to everyone as again it is easy for anyone to obtain a vest, mask, weapon and badge and masquerade as a law enforcement officer/agent.
