It can't be understated how awesome it is that the NHL replaced its all-star game with a format that the players love so much that they are willing to play through injuries that will require them to miss time when the regular season starts back up this weekend.

Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin both entered the NHL with nearly impossible expectations to meet, and both have not only met them, they have consistently exceeded them and still are to this day even at ages where they should be slowing down. It is really wild.
