Last 11 weeks of rainfall for England. With a couple of exceptions, very dry. River flows now widely starting to show impact.

Help reduce the risk of #Wildfire in the countryside over this period of breezy, warm weather. 🔥 Don't light fires or fireworks. Leave BBQs at home. If you see a fire unattended, get to a safe place and call 999. Video: Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service

It’s that time of year again- Spindle Ermine Moth (Yponomeuta cagnagella) - fairly common throughout Britain, the larvae feed gregariously in silken webs, causing defoliation. No long term damage occurs to the plant, as it will recover and flush again straight away. Oakbank Game

Don't worry about ermine webs! At this time of year we often receive reports of ghostly silken webbing covering sections of hedgerows and trees. 🕸️ The culprit? A harmless caterpillar. Read more about them here 👉 butterfly-conservation.org/news-and-blog/…

Here in Staffs we don't have to worry about separating Five-spot Burnet from Narrow-bordered Five-spot Burnet as we only get the latter. In Dorset there are both. One feature of Five-spot is that the spots often coalesce as seen in these photos. #dorsetjune25
