Great day at Dungeness Bird Observatory. My personal highlight was finding an Icterine Warbler in the moat of the obs! Other bits were Zitting Cisticola, Pied Flycatcher, Tree Pipit, Little Stint, 6 Ruff and Spotshank. BirdTrack BTO

juvenile White-winged Black Tern at Leeds Castle, Kent this evening. Lovely backdrop as it fed on the lake by the castle. Only downside was the overzealous security scrutinising out of hours visitors, despite the public footpath.

A couple of nights away in the new forest gave us some great birds. So many spot fly a pair of distant Goshawks ,fleeting moments of wood warbler and on our return home Galloways Lydd ranges a stunning Zitting Cisticola and Dungeness produced Icterine warbler what a week !!!

Back out Patchwork Challenge this evening… standard sightings, although c30 Linnets and 6 Swallows W over rural Godinton House were nice to see. Kingfisher, 2 Grey Herons, House Martins, Chiffchaffs with the Tit flocks, C Buzzard.

Juvenile Honey Buzzard over Dover Castle this morning, Picked up over East cliff, viewed from Fox hill down, Flew NE along the coast with a Common Buzzard. My earliest juv at the coast.

1 Greenshank, 5 Green Sandpipers, 4 Lapwings & 1 Common Snipe still on the Conningbrook Lakes Wetland area plus 3 each of Teal & Gadwall, 3 Little Egrets & 6 Tufted Ducks (main lake).
