As I'm working in the lake district for a few weeks, decided to take in a first visit to Brunton Park on my day off. Relegation threatened Carlisle United beat Top of the table Port Vale 3-2 in league 2. Vale missed a last minute penalty to equalise.

The game was postponed on player safety grounds & due to large parts not being marked out. It was not postponed simply because it was hard. Several areas of the pitch had large craters in. The match referee made an honest call based on their judgement of potential safety issues
