I've lived with the Taylor Swift album for a few (NDA proscribed) days, and while I think the icily vengeful Smallest Man in the World is the album's artistic highlight, the earworm that keeps going round my head in a loop is scifi synth pop ditty Down Bad. #TaylorSwift

My thoughts on Taylor Swift's Tortured Poets Department, an album I've been maintaining NDA enforced silence for days. They say revenge is a dish best served cold but Swifts certainly heats it up. Honestly, I almost feel sorry for Matty Healy. Almost.

You know you are getting older when you say 'I'm with the band' and you mean: 'my daughter is the drummer'. Amazing night last night at Absolutely Anytime gig in London. Such energy and charisma. They've got 'It'. And Neil McCormick just called them 'a hot little band'. WHOO!

Caught a hot little band in a dive bar in the East End, @Absoluteany. Charming, colourful, charismatic and their fans give it loads. I'd sign them like a shot if I was a record company.

Very good piece from Ian Winwood about badly paid authors. Writers will read it and weep in recognition. The publishing industry should read it and weep in shame.
