Please say no to poisonous slug pellets, pesticides and weedkillers. Hedgehogs hoover up over 100 invertebrates, such as snails, slugs, worms every night! Pic via The Wildlife Trusts #wildlife #garden

When you're concentrating so hard on bringing bedding in that you completely overshoot the hedgehog house door and almost end up in the feeder by mistake 😂 #hedgehog

Britain has eradicated endless miles of hedgerow over recent decades. Wildlife habitats destroyed, pollution-soaking plants gone, the countryside left bleaker. Please plant a hedge - however small - if you can. And if you have one already, look after it!

Native hedgerows are hugely important for wildlife and biodiversity, as habitats and wildlife corridors. It's sad that so many hedges have been lost from our landscapes over recent decades. Please plant a hedge in your garden or community if you can!

Mmmmm....some crappy news we had some of our large plants stolen from the UoM Sustainability supported wildflower section last night. We saved these shrubs from gardens that got destroyed for public car parking spaces. Residents worked hard digging these up. why steal community plants? 🤷🏽‍♀️

Please don't cut back ivy if tidying your garden! Around this time of year its flowers are a fantastic late season pit-stop for struggling pollinators like bees, butterflies, hoverflies and moths 🐝 #gardening #wildlife #nature

Did my #bee hotels last night. Pretty sure one leafcutter mum used cosmos petals to make part of her nest (I love her). Not a bad year: 69 red mason cocoons, 58 leafcutter and 8 PRECIOUS wool carders. All tucked up in the shed with the bee hotels cleaned and ready for spring 🐝
